Lifelong's services fit into four general categories:
Consultation and Inservice Training
Issues unique to adults with learning disabilities, AD/HD or other factors that affect learning and performance on the job, at home, in school, etc.
Counseling and Life Skills-Behavioral Therapy
Counseling and psychotherapy services for adults, adolescents and children with all kinds of issues, for people with physical or sensory disabilities, and for people who have learning disabilities/AD/HD or developmental disabilities. We have programs and specialists specifically for child protection and welfare agencies, for adult students with learning and/or attention problems, for people who have developmental disabilities, and individuals with problems that fit on the autistic spectrum of disorders (e.g., autism or Asperger's disorder).
Psychological and learning disability evaluations for adolescents and adults with dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Asperger's and autistic spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, behavior disorders and mental illnesses. Reports are appropriate for requesting accommodations at school or work and may be used for determination of eligibility for SSI/SSDI or vocational rehabilitation.
Specialized Instruction and Job Coaching
Instructional services for adolescents and adults with disabilities that affect learning, educational goal completion, and job training. Qualified special educators provide assistance with documenting, requesting, and learning to use accommodations.
Support for Stroke Survivors and Their Families
Personal Counseling for Stroke Survivors ... and Family Members, Academic and Independent Living Skills instruction for survivors of stroke, Help on the Job: Vocational Academic Skills and Job Coaching for stroke survivors, and Ongoing Case Management especially for survivors of stroke and their families.
